Mark van Gorder for Supervisor

Napa County District 2

Hello, and welcome to my website.

I am a candidate for Napa County Supervisor, District 2. As         your elected representative and father of two young children, I will preserve Napa’s open space and water resources; support local job creation; seek new businesses to move to Napa; fight for sustainable planning and encourage affordable housing.

Over the past seven years I have worked diligently to serve Napa residents on the Napa City Council. And, during that time I have established a record of working for the best interests of Napa City and County residents alike.

For nearly 15 years I have worked in the wine industry sectors of winegrowing, public relations, direct to consumer sales and marketing, events and hospitality.  I am the father of two children.  Our oldest, Aelyn, attends West Park Elementary.  Our youngest, Kelsie, spends time at home once a week with grandmothers and great-granmother and we know well the issues facing seniors today. When Kelsie is not at home she goes to Wine Country Daycare - which is excellent if you are looking for child care.  As your County Supervisor I will represent working people throughout the county and support families and seniors not as a"politician" but from my personal daily experiences.

Your support is very important to me, so please do not hesitate to contact me or share your view if you have any questions about my campaign or would like to get involved. I appreciate your interest and support.

Sincerely,

Mark van Gorder

City on hook for $80,000 if pot clinic never opens The city got lucky to have heard about this case before taking any further steps, van Gorder said. A case came up that was significant enough to potentially impact the city and we had to hit the pause button. Napa isn't abandoning its ordinance or the patients whom medical marijuana could benefit, say van Gorder. more...

City Making Progress Reducing Energy Usage The city has spent $520,000 on six completed or ongoing projects, including high-efficiency lighting on city streets and in city buildings. The city replaced 279 streetlights with longer-lasting, brighter LED lights. They will cut the city's energy bill by $22,000 annually.
